I would like to take advantage of AJAX in my ASP.NET apps and would like to ask whether i should learn Atlas or buy in some 3rd party components. The 3rd party components looks as though I can use them with little understanding of AJAX (ie no learning curve) so I guess this might be a good starting point. But what could I achieve with Atlas that the 3rd party components can't achieve?
Could someone please enlighten me?

incorporating atlas controls into your pages is pretty straightforward. There is no real need to learn anything new to get up to speed pretty quickly. I suppose it all depends how deep you want to go. It is still early days for the whole project so there are issues/bugs. One main thing i would say that i have come across so far when trying to get to grips with this new framework is that there is not so much help to hand at the moment when you do run into difficulties. I think it will all come good in the end personally. the how to videos that you can find at atlas.asp.net get you off to a nice speedy start and you can move on from there.
